Overview

Gold Run Nordic Center is Breckenridge’s premier destination for winter Nordic activities, boasting an extensive network of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Spanning approximately 30 kilometers of groomed ski trails and 15 kilometers of snowshoe trails, the terrain offers something for everyone – from gentle, family-friendly loops to challenging routes that meander through stunning alpine scenery and past historic gold mining sites. Open seasonally during the winter months, the Nordic center provides an immersive Rocky Mountain experience for all ages amid pristine snow-covered landscapes.

In addition to its trails, Gold Run Nordic Center features a variety of amenities and activities that set it apart. It’s home to Summit County’s only groomed fat biking trails and even offers horse-drawn sleigh rides for those looking to enjoy the mountains in unique ways. Guests can take advantage of the newly renovated clubhouse, perfect for warming up by the fire or enjoying a picnic lunch, and a well-stocked pro shop that provides rental gear, equipment demos, and retail merchandise.

For those seeking guidance or instruction, daily lessons and guided tours are available. Professional instructors offer group and private ski lessons for all ability levels, and guided snowshoe tours depart regularly – one popular tour leads visitors to the historic Jessie Mill, an iconic mining-era structure in the nearby Golden Horseshoe area. Whether you’re brand new to snowshoeing or a seasoned winter explorer, this experience equips you with a full-day trail pass and quality snowshoe rentals, allowing you to discover Gold Run’s winter wonderland at your own pace. Friendly staff are on hand to help fit your gear and can even tailor an outing to your schedule if standard packages don’t suffice, ensuring an unforgettable day in the Colorado snow.
