Gulf Coast Surf School was founded by a group of passionate surfers who enjoy sharing the love of teaching and surfing with others. A typical surf lesson will include 1-2 hours of instruction and a board rental. The water safety and etiquette land portion of the lesson will educate you on surfing before you get in the water.
We were founded by a group of surfers while attending the University of West Florida. During downtime and on holidays, you would find us on Pensacola Beach surfing and sharing the love of surfing with others. Together we have decades of surfing experience and would love to share the stoke with you.
Three Locations
Pensacola Beach, FL
We’ll meet you for surf lessons on Pensacola Beach at the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier. Located off Fort Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach, FL 32561. Plenty of local resturants, public restrooms, & county lifegaurds nearby.
Navarre Beach, FL
We’ll meet you for surf lessons on Navarre Beach at the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. Located off Gulf Blvd, Navarre, FL 32566. The Navarre Beach Fishing Pier is a record-holding fishing pier in Navarre, Florida. At 1,545 feet long, the pier is the longest of its kind in the state. It is the 15th longest public pier of any kind in the United States.
Destin, FL
We’ll meet you for surf lessons in Destin at the Okaloosa Island Pier. Located off Mircale Strip Pwky, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Directly next to the “Boardwalk”, a waterfront shopping & dining complex with public beach access, pirate shows & summer fireworks.
- Land class including instruction of proper prone position, paddling technique, the “pop up”, and proper stance
- Lessons from experienced, CPR certified surf instructors
- A typical lesson will include 1-2 hrs of instruction & board rental.
- Water safety & Etiquette.
- “Paddling out.” (duck diving, log roll, nose dives, etc).
- Assistance with line-up placement & catching waves.
- Surf photography package available for purchase
Things to bring: Sunscreen, Water, Towel, Proper Swim Attire, & Rash Guard.
