DO I NEED A LIFEJACKET?
When using a SUP beyond a ""swimming, surfing or bathing area,"" having a life jacket is required by the US Coast Guard. Kayaks always require a life jacket. It is recommend by Mr. Beach Rentals every time for all of their products and are provided a life jacket with kayak and paddle board rentals at no additional charge.
ARE THE PADDLE AND LIFE VEST INCLUDED WITH RENTALS?
Paddles and PFDs are free with rentals! They will be added to your reservation automatically when booking water sports equipment online or over the phone. Excess life vest are an additional charge.
WHAT SIZE LIFE VESTS DO YOU HAVE?
The PFDs that come with equipment are universal adult (90 lbs and up). They also have 3 other sizes including Youth Small (30-50 lbs), Youth (50-90 lbs) and XXXL. If you would like a different size than the universal adult, please make a note in the comments when booking online or let them know over the phone.
CAN WE USE KAYAKS AND STAND UP PADDLE BOARDS IN THE OCEAN?
Yes! Staff loves using them in the ocean! Please note this may not be for everyone as conditions can be much more challenging. It is also imperative that you use equipment that is suitable for use in the ocean. They do not recommend using sit-inside kayaks as they may fill up with water and can be a massive challenge to bring back to shore if flipped. Sit-on-top kayaks are a much better choice as you can flip them over and hop back in much easier!
WHAT IF WE ARE NOT THERE WHEN EQUIPMENT IS DELIVERED?
As they make many deliveries & pickups on Saturdays when very few people are on the island, staff are accustomed to delivering equipment to houses with no one at home. They will find a convenient place where equipment can be left that is hidden from the street but in a place you will notice upon arrival.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I AM DONE USING THE EQUIPMENT?
Equipment should be left in a similar place where it was dropped off. At your scheduled pickup time or shortly after, they will retrieve your equipment. If you get done ahead of time, you may let them know by texting or calling (910) 250-9960. Let them know the name on the reservation and they will pickup the equipment as soon as they can.
WHAT ARE THE DELIVERY HOURS?
On Oak Island and Holden Beach, they can deliver anytime between 9am-5pm; please schedule ahead.
Cancellations: Refunds will be given for cancellations where Mr. Beach Rentals is notified at least 24 hours before equipment is delivered.
